Ingredients

  • One 18cm chocolate cake
  • Chocolate frosting
  • 700g blue fondant
  • 50g red fondant
  • 15g black fondant
  • 15g white fondant
  • Cornstarch and powdered sugar mix
  • Dark chocolate or food pen
  • Food glue


Instructions

  1. Cover the cake with a thin layer of chocolate frosting and refrigerate for 30 minutes to set the crumb coat.
  2. Roll out the red fondant to create the oval mask and cut out the white eyes with black frames.
  3. Draw a radiating web pattern on the red mask using melted dark chocolate or a food-grade pen.
  4. Roll out the blue fondant, drape it over the chilled cake, and trim the excess around the base.
  5. Secure the mask and eye pieces to the top of the cake using a small amount of food glue or water.
