Description
Experience the perfect harmony of juicy, syrupy peaches and a tender, golden vanilla crumb with this effortless dump cake. This simple yet sophisticated dessert captures the essence of a traditional fruit cobbler with a melt-in-your-mouth texture that is ideal for any gathering.
Ingredients
- 2 cans (15 oz each) sliced peaches in light syrup
- 1 box (15.25 oz) French Vanilla cake mix
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven. Set your oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 13×9-inch baking dish.
- Layer the fruit. Drain the syrup from one can of peaches into a cup, then add the fruit from both cans into the baking dish and spread evenly.
- Season the fruit. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar uniformly over the peach layer.
- Add dry mix. Pour the French Vanilla cake mix over the peaches and press down gently with a spatula to ensure it contacts the fruit.
- Add the butter. Slice the butter into 16 thin squares and arrange them in a grid across the top of the cake mix.
- Apply the syrup. Drizzle the reserved peach syrup over the top of the butter and mix, using a knife to swirl lightly if necessary.
- Bake the cobbler. Place in the center of the oven and bake for 45 minutes until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
- Rest before serving. Allow the cake to cool for 15 minutes before serving to ensure the syrup fully absorbs into the crust.
Notes
- Ensure your butter is cold when slicing to prevent the top from becoming greasy during the baking process.
- Use light syrup instead of heavy syrup to keep the dessert from becoming overly sweet or soggy.
- Glass baking dishes are recommended to monitor the bottom crust for perfect caramelization.
- Press any dry cake mix spots into the syrup halfway through baking to ensure even hydration.
