Description

This vibrant red, white, and blue dessert features a tender white sponge marbled with festive colors and soaked in a rich cheesecake pudding. Topped with a cloud of freshly whipped cream, it is the ultimate melt-in-your-mouth treat for any summer celebration.

Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix (plus ingredients required on box)
  • Red and blue gel food coloring
  • 2 boxes (3.4 oz each) instant cheesecake pudding mix
  • 4 cups cold milk
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Festive sprinkles for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the cake mix box and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with baking spray.
  2. Prepare the white cake batter according to the package instructions until smooth.
  3. Divide the batter equally into three bowls: leave one white, tint the second with red food coloring, and tint the third with blue food coloring.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the three colors into the prepared pan, alternating to cover the bottom, then swirl gently with a toothpick to create a marble effect.
  5. Bake the cake as directed on the box, then let it rest at room temperature for 10 minutes.
  6. Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes across the entire surface of the warm cake, pushing about three-quarters of the way down.
  7. Whisk together the instant cheesecake pudding and cold milk; just before it sets, pour it over the cooled cake, ensuring the custard fills the holes.
  8. Refrigerate the cake until the pudding layer is completely set.
  9. Whip the heavy cream and vanilla until soft peaks form, then add powdered sugar and whip until stiff; spread over the cake and garnish with sprinkles before serving chilled.

Notes

To achieve the most distinct marbled look, be careful not to over-swirl the colored batters, as this can lead to a muddy appearance. Always ensure the cake is fully cooled before adding the pudding soak to maintain the perfect balance of moisture and structure.
